I checked, and I do have little bubbles in the radiator (not loads or any big bubbles, just a few small ones here and there) but I also feel that this is happening now because I have been topping it up with coolant/anti freeze mix and not fully bled the system and may have caught some air along wit...

Hmm I made a mistake, the engine was indeed a P2A stamped block

Unfortunately I already thrown away the connecting rods, I might check if they are still there in the metal trash bin to measure the length :)

I just dissassembled a D15Z6 engine here at home.
The engine code it has is P2J

How can I measure the connecting rod length and the deck height ? I always thought the D15Z6 engine had the same deck height as a D16

I really like the specs of that one, but is it really just 90 bhp at such low revs while it can rev incredibly high? Look at the torque, it should be able to produce far over 100 bhp stock I'd say. Well, i felt the whole car losing grip, drifting a bit sideways to the left, but especially the front tires..the steering wheel was at 45 deg. and the vehicle continued forward for a moment... The head of the D14Z6 is completely different, no way to run a dizzy on that engine.
I don't know what the difference in the block is, maybe you can run D14Z6 pistons in an older D14. But maybe the difference in compression comes from the cylinder head...

Why would you need a D16Z6 dizzy ? Are you going to use a D16Z6 head ? If you use D16Y8 head you can keep your current dizzy, by far the easiest option It's quite nice OBD2b uses heated 4 wire lambda, because OBD2a uses a single wire lambda. Single wire lambda works fine with chipped ecu btw, I pass...

Hi, as far as I know the D14Z2 uses full OBD2b so as far as I know you only have to add the VTEC wire as the Y8 doesn't have the VTEC pressure switch

You are from the UK right ? As far as I know the D16Y8 only came in Del sols so finding a proper engine loom will be difficult I guess.

I would get an EK3 engine loom and ditch the EGR stuff or just add VTEC to your D14 loom, ain't that hard either :)

After reading some more I came across some maps that allow me to time the dizzy at 12 degrees. If it does not run well I'm going to start with D16Z6 maps and time the dizzy at 16 degrees. The only thing with the D16Z6 is the fact it needs much more timing because of its lack of quench, so i'm not to...
