Re: d14a4 idle problem
Well, guess what...The hesitation problem is still here. :( The car runs great on full throttle, it is faster than ever. Still, when driving in low rpms, you can feel it is not so responsive some times and you can't drive easily in steady revs. To describe it a bit better, when you accelerate very s...

Re: Dropping idle
ECU learns the idle settings after a reset and perhaps even on the long run. Joris you had mentioned a learning mode skill for the ecu. I have experienced the following. Whenever I reset the ecu for a reason or clean the TB, then the idle is erratic and usually high. The last time this happened it ...

Re: d14a4 idle problem
I can't believe I am still writing here about the idle and hesitation issue... ;) Sudden loss of power and then it pulls again only in partial acceleration, not when you floor it. Also, what you had described, Joris, some posts before. I have stable gas pedal and the car oscillates in surge with a p...

Re: d16a6 head on d14a3/4 block
I guess the vtec head gives the advantage of driveability below the vtec point. Going non-vtec and still making equal power you will need a more aggressive cam, which should affect drivability in low revs, fuel consumption, emissions etc.

Re: d14a4 idle problem
Back in the days I had bought some aftermarket wires called 5 star. I didn't used them for long. Do all d-series wear the same ignition cables?

Re: d14a4 idle problem
Some small update! I ordered some ignition cables as the oem ones were there for too long. As the mechanic was replacing them I saw that one of them was cracked. So i thought to my self " We found the culrprit" Sadly the aftermket ones didn't fit well and i could hear some inteference in t...

Re: d14a4 idle problem
Yes! RACV! We don't have IACV in d14s. Still there must be some minor, yet irratiting, issues that i haven't figure out yet. I have replaced the RACV, the dizzy, the maf sensor, the O2 sensor. I have the stock fuel pump, stock ignition cables and stock injectors. What it does? I can feel a sudden lo...
