Ignition timing and basemap on D16Y8

Hi guys, I'm getting a bit confused about the D16Y8 ignition timing. My specs: D16Y7 engine with 12 degree marked pulley D16Y8 head, camshaft, camgear TD-80U dizzy P06 with VTEC P30 base with P28 / P2P maps tuning with CROME The first thing I want to do is to run a P2P basemap, but what does the timi...

Re: DaWaN's OBD-I swap

I am still working on it :)

I have a question though, are OBD2a alternators different from SFI alternators ? It seems like my SFI alternator only has 3 pins where as the OBD2a connector has 4.

Re: DaWaN's OBD-I swap

Still in progress hehe... Things are about to move fast though, I will pick up my D16Y7 engine this week :) I'll ditch the old D15Z6 engine as I don't trust it too much (it consumes oil). Finding a nice D15/D16 for the right price took some time, but I finally found the Y7 engine a few weeks ago. I ...

Advantage VTEC D14

I'm currently in the process of building a cheap and powerfull D-series engine. Parts I have so far: D16Y8 head with cam and ignition D15Z6 engine loom P06 ECU (with the parts to convert it to VTEC) D16Z6 intake manifold with injectors, tb etc. D13B2 gearbox As you can see I have pretty much all the...

Re: MegaSquirt

The idea of MegaSquirt is nice but the whole not-so-free licence which goes with the hardware is horrible. Also as you state the features are not top notch either and combine that with low quality source code and you have a system that is ruined in my eyes. Currently i'm keeping an eye on FreeEMS, i...

Re: DaWaN's OBD-I swap

I think i'm going to chip it myself first. Right now plans have slightly changed since I got hold of a D16Y8 head with cam :) In the mean time I got also hold of a 4 wire lambda :) So I must convert the ECU to VTEC first (will do that with new parts instead of trying to find a way-to-expensive legac...

Re: What u know about P04

The P04 is the ECU of the D15B2 dual point injection as far as I know.
It's pretty useless I think. You cannot use it for the usual multipoint (P06,P28 etc.) setups
