Re: Chassis Reinforcement

For myself I really like the PSW:JDM... should fix me one. Btw for a cheap solution: the original EK4 (same as EK9?) strutbar costs just 13 euro brand new at a dealership. Incredible low price, especially since it is a dealer. An Integra Type-R is also good to work with... got that one in my EJ1 cha...

Re: Get a head start on handling with the '98+ EJ9

My car had an original price somewhat below 13.000 euro, 12.500 or something I guess. Over here in the Netherlands they go from 1000 to 4000 depending on year and quality.

Re: Hybrid gearboxes. In search of the perfect gear ratios.

Some D14A3/A4 have a 4.250 final gear... I suppose I got it. In 5th gear with 4000 rpm on the dial I have exactly 140 kms on the dial. Some people do that with significantly less rpm or more kms. The exact distribution of final gears (4.058 versus 4.250) is unknown to me, seems a bit random, mayby y...

Re: Aftermarket Cluthes

I did drag about half a dozen events, drove a bit on the track and drove 325.000kms up to today with my EJ9. Still OEM D14 clutch in there performing without a glitch!

Except for a small squicky/rattle sound of the clutch pedal itself when I press it :).

Re: Which tyre size and wheel to choose?

Well my favourite is the 15 inch rim. For 15 inchers you can get descent performance tyres with stiff enough walls. Unfortunatly most of these tyres are also available in 16 inch, but can cost up to twice as much since the 16 inch is a rare one. Some 17 inch tyres are even cheaper than 16 inch, but ...

Re: High performance summer tyres

For years and years my favorite tyre in 195/50R15: Michelin Pilot Exalto, both the first and second generation. I am very happy since they out perform a lot of the other street tyres, especially in rain. I have had days were on the track warmed with nice sun I still cornered faster than some people ...

Re: Semi Slick Tyres

Its my EJ1 chassis and not the EJ9 that I use on track nowadays (the EJ9 is too precious hehe). But normally both cars drive on the same tyres, the EJ1 is just a bit heavier (150 kilos!). But in a while I will have the Toyo R888 under it in the 195/50R15 size. Hopefully I get it track tested this ye...

Re: Cold Air Intakes, Airboxes and Scoops

I am typically one of the few people not bothering wether I have open air or cold air actually. With open airs I got plenty of hps from both my engines (D14 and B16B) were some coldair setups seemed to lack the ability to breath at high revs. Though right now I have the Simota AeroForm due to a luck...

Re: High Flow Catalysts and Test Pipes.

I was actually suprised of the dimensions of a cat from a high performance Honda engine, the B16B in this case. Since I got that engine as well in another Civic I also got an (emptied out) OEM cat for it. Despite the bigger 2.5 inch flange on those cats, the inner diameter before entering to the cat...
