Re: Piston and rod size of the D14A3/A4/Z1/Z2
Correct the late d14 engines had some good Dome pistons in them ,but they also have a different head then a D16z6 and valves are in a different angle , and valves are wayy smaller the the Z6 ones. That's why you're making more hp...You gotta watch out valves don't hit the pistons with these engines ....

Re: General discussion about exhauts
If you're worried about rust you should get the ceramic coating.Never use header wrap,it keeps moist in the wrap.Bisimoto doesn't sell crappy parts , when he says it's stainless steel it isn't "ebay stainless steel" it's 304 stainless. If your still not convinced you should get another hea...

Re: Cams for D14
I'm just as curious as you Sebas , i can roughly calculate what i might get out of the engine but i never can be sure of that .Things might not work toghether properly and i could lose Hp somewhere .It might be the other way around too and i could get way more then i expected. One thing that i always...

Re: OEM D-Series Intake Manifolds
That's what i was thinking about Joris , the opening in the intake manifold would be to big allready for a stock Tb.But you could always try a B16 Tb indeed. Can you make a new movie of you D14 going true the rpm's ?I like to see how fast it really accelerates ,or the respons.I'm planning to get a s...

Re: General discussion about exhauts
Too many pieces welded..Bad for rust and cracks  Especially if you live in seaside areas with tons of sea salt and mud. Does this come with a ceramic coating? I can not even believe you can say such a thing  .If you don't know what you're talking about please don't make statements like ...

Re: OEM D-Series Intake Manifolds
What do you think half pedal acceleration does with a Tb ? It promotes Velocity ,use a smaller Tb and you'll get better velocity in a wider rpm range .Like i said before you need to have the smallest Tb without losing HP in WOT at high rpm.Suzuki uses double butterfly plates in their Bike throttle b...

Re: OEM D-Series Intake Manifolds
If you have the possibility test it on the Dyno Stock Vs. 70mm Tb . I'm pretty sure stock will do better ,but i can't proof it to you either cause i haven't got results on paper. One thing i always think of is this crazy B20 build N/a engine from Endyn that has around 300chp and uses a ported skunk m...

Re: OEM D-Series Intake Manifolds
Too big of Tb loses all the velocity , you'll gain at high rpm little hp. You should always keep a small Tb with a big plenum or a Big Tb with a small plenum.Specially on a D14 you need lot's of Velocity. You want your Tb to be as small as possible without choking it at High rpm . Port matching the m...

Re: OEM D-Series Intake Manifolds
Afaik the best manifold out there is the Edelbrock unit.Skunk is good too but it has unequal runner lengths.I had a ported Blox manifold and it was tested on a flow bench with a stock Tb .The results were 260Cfm on all runners except on runner 1 it had 256Cfm. I would say cut open the skunk 2 manifo...
