i think if u wanna high RPM u need VTEC head (d16z6 D16y8) and aftermarket camshaft;
if u wanna low Rpm for High Torque u need nonvtec (vtec-e) head with d16w3 or some camshaft;
if u wanna low Rpm for High Torque u need nonvtec (vtec-e) head with d16w3 or some camshaft;

...but u could use stroke and crankshaft from D15. but u need some work with Cylinder of Block.
Block D14=Block D15....
1. u increase volume engine 1396cc -> 1493
2. u could find more intresting thing for d15, and forged rod too
