Ah very good points Jangz, same same i didnt get my head skimmed and I reused the bolts, hopefully we'l get to the bottom of it at some point!(as much as i'd like to buy some of your parts tho) :lol:

hey jangz, Oh know not another possible cause for overheating! Mine has not been mapped since doing the headswap/vtec swap, but i doubt its the case for me, as iv read on here that the d14s normally run rich after the swap due to using 1.6 fuel maps! Jangz!dont give up, have you got any parts for sale that you can go without?ie so that the money made from the sales could go towards a head gasket etc?to finally get your car done but then quit now is terrible! :o Would you be able to take the civic off the road until fixing the problem?or go down ...

I am not entirely convinced yet its the head gasket, as i can still drive hard and the car is fine but when at a stand still it heats up due to the coolant being sprayed out and emptied via the overflow and with no coolant inside it heated up. "lots of coolant being pushed into the overflow" iv noticed this before.when car is cold the water ;level is within the min and max, but when hot hot it is nearly full.is this a sign of headgasket??
