Re: D Series Piston info.

Thats a good advice to start with !
Thanks. with my setup this are compression rates of several pistons and distance to the deck surface in mm:

D16Y8 Pistons (8.71 + 0.3mm)
D16Y5 Pistons (8.67 - 0.1mm)
D17A2 Pistons (7.30 + 2.6mm)

Should use the third one if i can find it...
Best Regards

Re: D Series Piston info.

I was reading some info about them.
It seems they are quite good, but, the position they run, under the deck top may lower the compression too much. Some forums mention 7:1... I would be glad with good Honda Stock ones :) anyone can advice me in keep the original or change to y8's?

Re: D Series Piston info.

Also, quite difficult for me to check the compression values with this setup:
D16Z6 head + D16Y8 pistons

I'm considering what pistons should be better for turbo application on this head... D16Y8 or D14A4 stock ones?

Re: Aftermarket Rod and Pistons.

I guess the worst problem of all is being the rods due to the excessive price of crower ones... I want to make a Turbo setup for 300hp but dont have matchable and at the same time affordable rods. Do you guys have any solution? or should i use B18c modded rods for being the same height?
Cheers

Re: Post your mileage

Update : My 1.4iS from 1997 just made 150'000kms. It has been consuming 1L of oil each 10'000kms. Guess it results from the bad treatment i've gave it around the 100'000kms mark when i bought it. Piston rings should be ovalized Now, just want to do a regular maintenance because a new phase has start...

Re: D14 on Lotus Engine Simulator [Urgent]

Sorry for not giving any news for so long... im doing the researh needed for finishing this project. until there, the head surface volume was already calculated on solid works. approximated model of D14a4 stock has already 103hp, but camshaft values, and boundary conditions are not ajusted. Talked t...

Re: D14 on Lotus Engine Simulator [Urgent]

Tomorrow is a big day. In the morning will measure all the head. in the noon will modulate great part of the engine and remove some errors.
