oversized valves

im planning on building another d14 head with springs, retainers, cam, 3 angle valve job, and a port

i am going to replace the valves in the head and was wondering if it is worth wile putting in 1mm oversize valves. obviously i will get the valve seats cut to suit. so is it worth it?

cheers

Re: Piston and rod size of the D14A3/A4/Z1/Z2

Man thats very cool news, I wonder how different it is. I would like to use a Y8 head and these Z2 pistons on my mini-me to bump up compression even further. I will recommend you to use D13 pistons because their deck height is positive. It will give you more compression than Z2 pistons. 1.3mm skimm...

Re: Mini-me Swap - Need Help

my engine shakes like hell at idle and sometimes nearly stalls. this is down to my bad cam timing at the minute. i still have to set it.

haynes manual also says that the maximum compression difference between each cylinder is 2bar so 0.5 aint too bad.

what did ur compression read in bar?

Re: Mini-me Swap - Need Help

i think the in between values for said valve clearances are 0.008 for inlet and 0.010 for exhaust. in inches. of the top of my head so dont quote me ;)

Re: Valve Springs and Retainers

does this mean that with the D14A4 head we can use d16 valves, springs and retainers?

Thinking of upgrading mine and going obd1 so can allow the engine to rev more instead of power still climbing until hits limiter.
