Re: LPG

With a petrol injector the liquid passes through the centre and the volume injected is controlled by the duration of the opening time of a needle valve. LPG injectors are handling saturated vapour, not liquid, and volume control is again by duration of opening time but the valve does not need to be ...

Re: LPG

I can see no reason why gas injectors could not inject water, they're just a solenoid operated valve. The nozzles are installed in the manifold by drilling and tapping 6M x 1.5 threaded holes. You would have to supply water under pressure and a means of triggering the injectors. Water injection is n...

Re: LPG

Hi Guys, I'm in the middle of replacing my old D16Y7 motor with a much lower mileage D14A4. I'm going for a better inlet manifold but incorporating my original throttle body so that I can retain the kick-down cable quadrant for my auto box. I'm installing a closed loop LPG system from my parts box a...

Re: LPG

Hi guys sorry for the long silence, just when the quiet life was getting comfortable all hell broke loose! As well as my day job I've also been selling autogas rigs on eBay and supervising LPG installs/remedial work on a big variety of vehicles. In the last 6wks I've been under the bonnet of:- Merc ...

Re: LPG

Hi Dodo. Assuming your 626 has an alloy inlet manifold (not plastic!) then a simple open loop LPG system is very do-able. I can provide a list of what you need and how to do it, very cheap way of saving BIG bucks. :geek: Just got busy again in my day job with the return of cold weather, have a lot o...

Re: Individual Throttle Bodies aka ITBs

I mentioned in the LPG thread about the high octane rating of propane, up to 115 depending upon mix (LPG is often a propane/butane cocktail with a few other hydrocarbons thrown in) and differing measuring standards. A combination of this fuel with the greater airflow of ITB's plus the ability to liv...

Was playing with my civic today and allowed gas into the v...

Re: D14A3/A4 versus D14A8

Finally got my Civic back on track! :D D16 block with D14 head runs absolutely fine and passed it's DVLA emmissions test without a cat. Story of my life, always short on pussy. :? Found a good strut brace but got let down on the Rover IM, the hunt goes on. In my LPG thread I've mentioned fitting a s...
