Re: Under vs Oversquare

Saxophonias, rod x stroke can only give us shortblock performance. D16 have VTEC, and high profile cams are great for high revs, with custom exhaust/intake you can easily take a D16 engine to 7500/7800 (real) rpm, so, almost 8000rpm in the dash. It is possible that this will harm the rods. D16Z9 rev...

Re: Intake tubes. Do size and shape count?

My car had the stock tube, linking airbox to IM. I upgraded it to EG VTi intake tube, which is larger and has the exact same length. I noticed significant improves, and I'm not using EG VTi TB. I'm waiting for the D16 head to be on, and then I will decide whether to buy and edelbrock IM, and use B16...

Re: buddy club N+ Coilovers

Law, Weitec Hicon GT doesn't allow you to change damp force. I would recommend full coilovers set, KW v1/2, SPAX/BC Racing, something like that.

Re: To mini-me or not?

Dodo, back here my regular mechanic has done a job on a D14A4 engine, with D16Y8 head, and use regular studs, one of them broke and there was a compression leakage.

It was his advice to use ARP Head studs.

Re: To mini-me or not?

You got to use D16Z6 (or other head code) timming belt, althought you might re-use your tensioner.

That is up for the head studs, to.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

For us Europeen guys, JapSpeed seems to be the best value for money option on the market. I payed 150€ for mine, delivered here in Portugal already. Other brands, or unbranded manifolds, tend to crack on the solders near exhaust flange, so, I didn't take any risks and bought these. Bisimoto http://w...

Re: Cams for D14

HT Leads are "cabos de velas", and Hondata Intake Gasket is "Junta de Admissão Hondata". I have to use D16Z6 HT Leads since the holes in the head are different, and the Hondata Intake Gasket is thicker and from a non-thermal conductive material, objective is to lower intake manif...

Re: Cams for D14

My Civic will be runing D16Z6 head in less then a month. I've already got D16 MPFi IM, its stock on MA8 Civic. Have a complete D16Z6 head, distributor, ht leads, D16Z6 Hondata Intake Gasket, Adjustable Cam Gear, head is going to be port matched, and polished, so to increase volumetric efficiency. Wi...
