Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

LOL due to the recent petrol prices in the UK, my impatience went straight out the window so I couldn't afford to be in vtec, plus before this I was only getting 22 MPG... that was killing me and its was worse than a 2 liter car. Lowering is on my list to do, also planning to go a lil further with o...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

Well I have some good news and thought I should test it all out before writing another post like a damsel in distress LOL. I noticed that my distributor was placed almost upside down (on one bolt), But in my situation this was not right or working for my car as the spark was hitting off the point, s...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

I am waiting on a new set of NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (heat grade 7) and NGK Wires (Blue). I have a really good air filter so I'm sure what AIR is going in is clean. The guy who fitted my z6 head is a really good at what he does and also followed the walk-through and set the valve adjustment to the s...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

Hey Guys, here is an update of my current situation. After the D16z6 Vtec head swap, I had really bad stuttering when driving at low revs. I changed the lambda sensor and it felt a little better but after a few days it started again. When the head swap was done the dizzy was put in such a way that i...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

No, no that's not the case for me, I have a chipped P28 ECU, 240cc injectors, z6 head, intake and z6 dizzy on 1 bolt like yours. Will the d14 dizzy fit with the bolt pattern of the z6 head and d14 block? I'm sure I read Lumpenst on here used his D14 one but had to bore out the bolt hole to get it to...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

Yeah, I have read it a lot of times but I got confused as to shall I set it to the standard 16 degree ignition (as its more of a standard setup cam etc) or 18 degrees as I read later on in the article? Joris stated on the first run it was 122bhp as it was set to standard D16z6 timing but later chang...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

I done a bit of reading to try and find out what could be the issue causing this. I agree Saxo that yes it may be a combination of bigger fuel injectors and having a bad map and/or being un-tuned, but before I got the head swapped fuel consumption was never an issue and still had the same injectors,...

Re: Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

Yeah I will be doing a service to it soon. I think I started noticing how bad it was since the Vtec conversion as it was done very ghetto style with no strobe to time the ignition. Again I wanted to also find out what is normal or the realistic MPG within the city driving for our 1.4i Civic and not ...

Bad Fuel Consumption!!!

Hey everyone I'm starting to have big concerns with the ever increasing fuel prices and my Civic's MPG. I fill up 30 litres and get only between 190-160 miles before I have to fill up again!!! That's like 28-22ish MPG. OK now and again I foot it but 90% I'm casual, drive to work at back and to the l...
