Oil Leak in intake tube and Spark Plugs
Hi All. I have allways known that the oil vapor that comes from head cover to intake tube is a normal thing, but today i saw an ej9 that is in very good condition and there was no oil collected in the airbox compartment. It was so clean that it got me thinking about my case. I have the d16z9 IM and ...

Re: Chassis Reinforcement
Also i have just talked to a colleague that is an construction engineer and he said that this brace would benefit only the tensile forces, forward and backward ( if any) and not the twisting of the chassis as the brackets are put on one and the same planе. The rectangular bulges on the bottom of the...

Re: Chassis Reinforcement
The chassis components in steel monocoque are designed to shrink at impact. Some say that braces may be dangerous, because if your car takes a medium hit in the fender for example, the impact could damage the whole chassis which is bad for safety and the car can become unusable after a light hit. I ...

Re: Ej9 max speed
Does your car on stock height? If yes this final speed is logical. With lowering the car, for example 3cm, there will be aerodynamic gain so the final speed will increase little bit! ;) Yes the car is with stock suspension and tire size (185/60/14). There was a thread in the local honda forum about...

Re: Ej9 max speed
I haven't gained any top speed at all after the IM and header swap, and that is why i have wanted to ask if it is normal...Not that the difference should be big but kind of expected more than stock speed. Anyway there is a difference from car to car so not a big deal. The car feels pretty solid at t...

Ej9 max speed
Hi All, yesterday i had the chance to test the civic on a perfectly straight empty road and i pushed it on 4th gear to max speed. The pull wasn't very bad up untill 160 170, but when it reached 180 it just stoped pulling. I made a second run and had the same result...180 km\h (6200 rpm) and the need...

Re: General Cooling Discuss
It is true that most of performance engine faults are due to bad maintenance and pure ignorance of obvious mistakes. That is especially true for turbo setups. The cooling system of the turbo engine consist of 3 main types - water cooling, oil cooling and air cooling. While the first two may be someh...

Re: Turbo Projects
D15 or 16 pistons or other parts may be stronger but mixing the internals is not the best option if you want reliability. Remember that the engines internals are calculated by an thermodynamics engineer and changing pistons with different shape may proove for the worse. It is allways better to inves...

Re: Turbo Projects
As far as i know turboing on a stock internals engine is ok up to 0.3-0.5 bar if the condition of latter is good. In fact most of the times there is no need of adding forged components, turbo valves, block guards and so on if the setup is done properly and the HEAT is treated with great caution. Mos...

Re: Exhaust manifolds
The rest of the exhaust is the OEM d14a4 one. My exhaust mechanic said that there is no need to change it unless serious ecu tunning is made. Do you think that there could be a problem with the flow with this setup?
