Ow mate .. I think u broke the lock from racing the hood to fall down and lock.. Thats not the way. While closing u have to gentely put it down and then pushing it down to click. You cant throw the hood to lick by itself, :) Try to use w40 if its not broken and then use grease , Hope it works out......

I would suggest to do it in summers and just survive the winter, Just close the rust hole with paste because even if u sand it .. Its gona come back.
