Tyre Pressures

What tyre pressure do you have? When i had 185-60-14 i used to run 33psi in front and 32 for the rear. While spirited driving i used 35psi and it was good as the sidewalls were stronger this way. When i changed to 185-55-14 i lowered the pressures a bit. I have 32psi all over and i can say it is really good.

i use 33 psi (2.3 bar) front and rear and they dont squeeze. i use them in all kinds of roads. i like to save tyres and fuel :D

Daily drive I go 2.7 bar front and 2.5 aft. This is with Exalto's.
On the track I actually lower to 2.5 and 2.1 respectively.
This to compensate the temperatures I get to and need the soft aft on my EJ1 chassis in order to not have it spin out in the rain :mrgreen: .

2.7 bar ~ 39 PSi
2.5 bar ~ 36 PSi
2.1 bar ~ 30 PSi

Man this is way too much for daily driving! Can you cope with the stiff suspension too? :lol:
So when heated your tyres will be easily at 42 psi which is too much. How much air pressure, exaltos can cope? My S-drive in 185-55-14 have a sign on them indicating the max. working pressure. Guess what..It's 40psi! MY 185-60-14 could handle more though.

Max working pressure should be indicated cold... and it is 51PSi on Exaltos. Also advice from Michelin experts which I gotten via via is too put more in it then recommended by your car manufacturer. Learned and tested that on road handling course I had, gives more control during dangerous manoeuvres.

I drive 100's of kms in a day sometimes, up to 900, but comfort is never a problem. Though personally I put performance before comfort by a mile. Only thing is I have some very neat Recaro ergonomic seats which really help my back hehe (cam from Lancia Delta HPE from the 90's)

But seriously, anybody here can notice tire pressure diffs? I can't. Test it yourself :roll: . I only feel it in the handling... says enough doesn't it?

I have 195 x 55 on my 15' with 2,2 bar. One day I had 3,3 bar by mistake an it was horrible, car was bumping like basket ball and it was very hard to keep it in straight line over 100

some testing as for tyre pressures. I used to have 31F 29R with 185-55-14 tyres. It's a comfy set up but you can realise some sluggish movements while cornering hard. 33F 31R is sportier but on the other hand you can feel the bumps all the time. Occasionally i used to express this view to some friends of mine and they couldn't accept a noticeable difference in the above mentioned aspects for this little psi difference. Maybe it's my suspension set up that allows such feedback to be felt while driving.

The softer the suspension setup, the lesser you can notice any differences in tyre pressure. So yeah, makes sence.
