P9A B000 Gearbox from a MB 1.6

Post by gofra »

Hi folks,

as I have been pretty unfortunate trying to swap my stock D14 gearbox with an ESi (d16z6) one (seller sold me a 1.5 gearbox P20 A000 instead), I found an oportunity to mount a MB 1.6 (d16w3 engine code) gearbox with a stamped code P9A B000. Now, the fella owning it told me there are virtually no differences between this one and stock ESi one which he swapped only to find out thare are no gains.

I have also been trying to search the internet for more data but could not find anything 100% sure - found some claims about this gearbox being quite short but no actual transmission ratios mentioned - just gut feelings and speedo readings.

Could you help me out? Anyone knows exactly what P9A B000 (MB 1.6, D16W3 engine) gearbox ratios could be?

Many thanx in advance!

They must be identical to the d16z6 ESi.
