very nice Ilya! But i think you should get a wideband to check the a/f ratio and then you don't need to worry about the engine. A wideband is something you will definetely need to tune your car, and since you do it alone i think it is a must. Is the chrome software helpfull enough?

CROME, yeah it useful. for start it's good tools

today in PGMFI.org i find BIN for D14 with VTE D16Z6 (my spec) for MT gearbox... but i use it with out modify in my AT box. ALL GOOD! i think this bin realy good for start tuning after swap OBD1.

These seem to be quite rev happy engines and all 4 I've worked on didn't have any problems running at 8k rpm
All of them however were not even close to this one as they had vtec heads on with stock bottom ends.

I find the maps above a bit weird. I've always ended up with less fuel in vacuum and more 2WOT.
Ignition is also weird. I never ran less than 24deg up to @WOT and I've never had detonation issues with d14s even at
30-31deg. Too little ignition never hurt anyone, but I'm starting to feel that those little engines want advance.
Sorry, but non of those guys wanted to pay for a dyno session, so I'm not sure what exactly those engines want.
Get them to install an AF monitor and try and help them tune that to about 13-13.5 everywhere for a start.

I've attached an OBD1 bin. This is my last customer. I tuned the car on the street and let him go on a vacation with it.
He promised we'll get it dyno tuned when he gets back around the end of the summer. I hope then I will finally know if those
engines like spark advance and to what degree.

Upper Firmware not very verll... it's about 12.55l per 100km. it's better that stock D16 P28 firmware but very rich. now i configure my own card for D14+D16VTEC
now i make AF monitor, but i use 1 volt Lamda with 1 Wire. Wide Band used 5v. but i think i could configure card very well, may not be the most accurate setting. but it would be better than 12.44l

may be i could use DODO firmware (by CrX) for start base.

Finally, I changed the tires for the summer.
I have the new firmware fuel-card. I want the weekend to try the maximum speed.

until the result is not very good. but they say it is for the automatic transmission is not bad. 0-100 was used for 15 seconds, is now about 12.

order a broadband lambda, and 4-2-1 exhaust tract.
try in May to replace the box, and set up card in full.

try to make a video.

We are saving around 10-15% of fuel since we changed from winter to summer tires!
