So there is no speed limiter on our cars? My car tops out at 110mph (177kmh) and I thought it was due to some sort of limiter. Its nowhere ner the redline, so your saying If I lowered the weight of the car it would achieve a higher top speed?

no speed limiter for absolute sure on our cars ! you dont pass 5000rpms or so in 5th gear cause the engine has no more energy !

Top speed depends more from engine and gearbox rather than the weight (normal deferences, not deference like 300kg)

The weight actually does not matter at all as long as we're not going up or down-hill.

As said before, the power of the engine to overcome the air- (and tyre-) resistance becomes smaller with higher speed. Both are simply in equilibrium around 170 for a stock D14A3.

Drive top speed... and stick your hand out of the window flat into the driving wind... that force around the entire body shell is your engine trying to overcome. Got any idea how hard that little 1.4 is working? ;)

indeed! This is why i never try to reach top speed, as i know i put a great strength on the engine. With stock ej9 gearbox the 4rth geat won't reach the rev limiter until the dial is at 207km/h  If there is downhill you might see this number.

Yes it works hard and because of it we like this little engine, don't we?
With the swaping the manifold from d16z6 the final speed changed?
Do somebody know this?

The civics are stable at that speed if it has a lower aftermarket suspenion.
Only the steering wheel goes to be light.
But I think with swaping steering rank from vti all be fine.
