D16Z6 harnass connection up to the rest of the car is different. It does not hook up with the dashboard connections.

Simply since 5th gen layout is different from 6th gen... so stick to 6th gen harnasses.

The biggest difference is the interiour loom.
The 5th gen engine looms connect to the interiour loom and the ECU connects to the interiour loom. The 6th engine looms connect directly to the ECU. Also the interiour connectors are completely different.

For you I think a D16Y8 engine loom with OBD-I conversion harnass at the end is the easiest way to go to keep things clean, but still that ain't a direct fit since atleast the dizzy and injectors have different plugs...

So, for D14 OBD1 conversion, if using an harness use:

D16Y8 harness + conv. harness
D16Y7 harness + conv. harness

You can use P28, P30 or P06 with any of them
You can use D16Y8 dizzy, D15B7, D16Z6 (depending on the head your are planning to run)

Does D16Y7 dizzy fits?
Does D15Z6 harness fits?
Cheers

Great so for conversion, in alternative of reppinning, use:

D16Y8 harness + conv. harness
D16Y7 harness + conv. harness
D15Z6 harness + conv. harness

ECU:
P28
P30
P06 (maybe P05 too?)

Dizzys:
D16Y8
D15B7
D16Z6
D16Y7
(depending on the head your are planning to run)

I think this clarifies a lot.
Maybe there are more. Feel free to update !

ok, so here's the thing, I'll be running D16Z6 dizzi and head with P28 ECU.
Now i understad that my main problem with the wiring will be as Dodo says the interior connectors. I want to make the point, I cant spend any more money buying conversion harnesses, I'm just broke... i spent the money i saved buying the D16Z6 stuff. So let me know how would be the best way to customise my wiring. cause I'm planning to simply cut off the interior wires, install the engine and ECU D16Z6 harness and solder the interior wires inthe the P28 connectors, does that makes sense?
I understand it's going to take an enormous amount of time, but since i can do it myself, it will be more cost effective...
the reason i want to do that is because I will sooner or later swap the hole D16Z6 block in (don't be mad at me cause i'll be leaving the D14 out of the car), so thats why i would like to have the hole Z6 harness in

Great work, just to clarify, what do you mean by conversion harness?? Boomslang-type OBD2 to OBD1 harnesses?

It will work but you should remap for better eficciency. If you use 240cc injectors it must work. Cheers
