I don't know what data u want to store.
If u want to know what your engine does this thing might be able to tell u.
But if u want to lap times and stuff where GPS is needed this thing is not what u look for.

My guess is that this thing can tell u what the ECU is measuring.
Like a tunerview can tell u in real time.
Oil temp, TPS, RPM stuff like that.

I don't want a GPS and lap timer, it is a box which connect to ECU, and to the USB, it work with software and it's for information about the ECU and motor in live (with ratio for some soft, and lot of other things).

A soft like this CARMM. I don't want this, I want another, but here, you can understand, it is in English.

So, I want to now if I connect this box (Moates Xtrem Hlog) it work, or with the box it is necessary some other parts (like when you chip = 1 chip and some parts).
I read somewhere when you have a P28, the Hulog is bolt-on. No other parts. True-False ?

Sorry for my english, thanks & good by.

The carMM thingy does store information from the ECU.
Although this is a OBD II datalogger.

P28 is OBD1 and i know that a tunerview can show u what the EUC is doing.
I don't know any dataloggers unless u would like to use a other engine managment. (Emerald, AEM or so.)

If u find something u like i suggest u post it here so we all can think with u.
U are looking for something like carMM, right?
Datalog from a P28 ECU that can be shown via USB on a comp/laptop.

I use eCtune to do that, many channels, but bad refreshrate. Locally up to 50 Hz or so, but average just 4-10Hz. Lot of pauses each second, but could be my slow ass laptop as well.

Btw Zeitronix can be used as a simple datalogger as well but only registers rpm, TPS, lambda and a free other channel with constant output.

Hy,

@ novaksaotome : I created a society (computeur & in some months programming chip) so I want to buy some soft and try some chipping before I broke motors ;)
But I still try. 8-)
My PC is not at my home, but I have found (I don't remember the name) one which is very interesting.

Another questions, the Lambda OEM (4 wires after OBD1 conv.) is OK to datalog or Zeitronix (or another brand) is recommended ??

To air/fuel ratio gauge, same question.

ok ok i see, as for datalogging, the OEM O2 sensor is not accurate enough to give you the information to tune accurately. this one will tell you just if you're rich or lean but not how much. In my opinion a wideband is a MUST, like the zeixtronics or innovate. :geek:

hello) few words about datalog on OBD1 (p28 exmpl)
1. u need USB-TTL converter. U can buy usb-rs232 and rs232-ttl and compile it
2. u need modify firmware in external memory (29256) in crome, u must delelte check sum and add quick datalog fuctions.
3. of course save it on memory chip
4. find and desolder connector near external memory - it's name CN2
5. 1 pin-gnd, 2 - RX (frm PC2ECU) 3 - 5v, 4 - TX (frm ECU2PC)
6. desolder J12 diod (left side near white microsheme)
7. connect TTL converter and start programm like Crome or FreeLog or other.
8. dont foget about bit speed - 38400

updated
setup for comport: Baud Rate 38400 + parity No + stop Bits 1
u can use protocol FreeLog with Protocol Crome 1.4
and of course u need in Crome delete Check summ ruttine and add Quick Datalog from menu. after u must write ROM (bin) into chip.
If u have P28 ECU u need base map like P30 or P72. i test it. ok.

u could use KQ-U8A

any question?

PS. i made it my self based in MAX3232CPE. i think u can use like this
