Great topic Joris and 007! You definitely should write a book (or at least a nice how-to guide on this site), you've spread more than enough information now to make sure you are going to car-heaven

car heaven... mmm... I wonder what it will look like. :P

it's been a long time and I've been getting increasingly comfortable with mapping. will definitely write a how-to about it sometime soon.

So, here we can discuss in further detail the differences between D16Z6 basemap and D14Y8 from Dodo.
That is the best example we have from a powerful D14 NA !
Dodo:

 Is this map for the new cam or for the D16Z6 one?

Ignition Delta (D14Y8 - D16Z6)
Image

Fuel Delta (D14Y8 - D16Z6)
Image

The maps breakpoints are slightly different between the 2 maps but I guess that is just Crome / eCtune conversion
Anyway, on the ignition side we have 10°CRK difference, and quite more on Low Valve Lift, full load.
That is being discussed on other topic: http://bit.ly/1sMxbmS
On the fuel side:

 Quite neutral on the low valve lift side, the 3/4% reduction area should be there for fuel economy
 Generally 10% reduction on the High valve lift up zo 6500, slightly richer afterwards, and most of the enrichment on the full load area.

Dodo / CRX_2 can you give some hints on this calibration?
Best Regards
