D14 ECU DLC 3 pin to 16 pin

Post by icarus »

Hello,

So my car does not have the 16 port DLC plug (well if it is I can not find it)
http://wikitest.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view.pl/Library/DLC
http://alflash.com.ua/honda.htm
http://www.obdclearinghouse.com/index.php?body=oemdb

Here is what I have found so far.

DLC 3-Pin

1 - Brown/black Data (K-line?)
2 - Red/White +12V
3 - Blue Ground

3-pinside Obd2-side 16 pin

1-----------------4/5
2-----------------16
3-----------------7

I purchased a 3 pin to 16 pin DLC adapter cabel.

3 pin connector uses honda genuine testers usually. Next to that connector is the 2 pin connector that we can use for error codes reading with jumping the 2 wires

or the hiden obd2 connector we can use
1996-2000 civics have obd2 connectors

Do you think our SADM SO4 (ek's) will have this? They are all RHD.

I will look tomorrow...

I think yes but to be sure it is good idea to check it

for RHD the components are symmetrical

the connector that you find where is from? that is not obd2 connector
obd2 connector must be near the clutch pedal* at sidewall and well hidden at 96-98 models

*edit:
for RHD the obd2 connector must be near the gas pedal
for LHD the obd2 connector is near the clutch pedal

well it would be near the clutch if I had one there....

My ECU is on the left side of the car (passanger RHD) its the only other connector not really going anywhere.

its is close to the 2 wire and 3 wire in the green dust cap as you posted. Under the glove box.

Do you have a more zoomed out pic maybe?
