yes even with an RPM switch

VAFC2 is rather nice for this.

FYI non-vtec ECU must be tuned as well.

thanks for the info. was a good read but at the same time a little annoying as I have a vtec head and ecu but my ecu is for a manual and mines a automatic. unless the ecu doesn't control the automatic she of things? any ideas?

As I can understand your car is automatic and you want to swap vtec head and vtec ecu for manual transmission, in order to work vtec head on your automatic car?

I think for automatic transmission you have to run automatic ecu.
If the automatic ecu has vtec it is ok! If not then you can add vtec controller to run the vtec head.

they do have an auto vtec ecu but trying to find one is a nightmare. how much tuning would need to be done if I just used a vtec controller? or could I get away with 240cc injectors and playing with the dizzy timing?
