So guys, finally i wasn't mislead from the d14 road  I am finally thinking of purchasing another ej9 or ek3 (d14/d15 respectively) but 3 door this time. I can find it for 3-3500e. So i can save plenty of money there. The plans are to get a cheap 30hp increase (d16 manifold, ebay header, cai, obd1 ecu tune, ebay exhaust). Then we will see about a cam or anything.
In a couple of months i will own it. This means that the black ej9 has to be tuned too. I have a skunk cam gear, and a fpr waiting to be installed. I might try it with the obd1 tune and a bisi valvetrain. We will see!

For anyone that may concern, b16b engines, as they are destroked b18c, they are 7mm taller than a typical b16a ;)

Hey I did not read this al this time. Almost the same as me hehehehe.

But I think you did right not buying it. Exactly as described earlier in this topic, my (EJ1) is so much softer than the EJ9. I partly hold that mere fact responsible for me crashing it once last year hehehe.

So if you can build an EJ9 (or EK chassis for that mather or even the EJ6), those are much firmer and give better response. I am still convinced my EJ9 can out corner my EJ1 on the track, though the EJ1 outcorners almost everything already... but that probably has more to do with me than the car  .

Ow and recognise B16B... uh most stupid anser ofcourse is to see the stamp of B16B. Then a lot of parts like IM are stamped either P72 or P73 (one of them). Well somehow you should recognize the look and feel of B-series engines and you see the B16B has everything a little bit larger than other B-series except B18.

When test driving it, VTEC should kick in hard at 6k... if it comes softly or earlier you have two options: 1 ) it aint the B16B or 2 ) it is tuned at least with a big header and ECU work has been done, it is very hard to loose the big kick, putting VTEC earlier is not always a solution.

Ah well... no B16B for you I reccon (btw, check always for the LSD to work in a sharp 2nd gear bend, you should feel it! But make sure you have the room to understeer if the LSD fails or isn't there hehe).
