I see very lean and that sort of explains my need for more timing. before I went about monkeying some more, I wanted to run them by some experts, including yourself. :)

looking at the pics in the links you provided it looks to me like things are on the borderline. there is no fouling, the black ring isnt sooty but brittle like it has been baked, the insulators are fine and there is no pitting. maybe Ill enrich another little bit and recheck.

Why are you not use spark plugs with one ground as recommend Honda?
From what I have heard the 4 ground spark plugs reducing Honda engines power.
The stock ones are NGK BKR5E-11 and BKR6E-11

I recommend to use iridium spark plugs, NGK ones are the best, code for d13 (and for many applications too) is BKR6EIX-11

Gd question betek, maybe from what I know or herd that sometimes one ground melts or breaks faster than four grounds.

But 4grounds is heavier . Still reduces power. I wonder what quality are they though?

good questions guys. simple answer: curiosity. those are Bosch Super 4 plugs and have a heat rating of 7. I was previously running HKS plugs [rebranded NGK 7 rating] and there was nothing wrong with them per se. just found these Bosch ones interesting and decided to give them a whirl. I havent found any increase or decrease in torque going by what my butt dyno says.
however, I will be switching back to my old HKS plugs very soon.

oh, and I just enriched the tune by another 10 percent and pulled back some timing. the engine feels smoother and in Closed Loop the ECU's long term trim is down to around 5 percent as compared to the 10 percent it was earlier.

If spark plug melts this is why of high temperatures from lean fuel mixture.
There is no difference for high temperature if there are 4 ground or 1 one ground at spark plugs they will melt if the temperature is high!
Also at that temperatures the pistons probably will melt!

What says NGK about Melting
"The middle and earth electrodes have melted together on this spark http://www.ngk.de/uploads/tx_templavoil ... ung_02.jpg plug That happens if the spark plug overheats. In this case, it is also possible that the piston could melt. The cause could be the selection of the wrong spark plug (incorrect heat rating) or a malfunction of the engine (pulsatory combustion or glow ignition)."

I think that HKS spark plugs are actually NKG iridium ones

yes they are indeed. NGK makes plugs for HKS. you can even see the NGK markings on the plug. they just omit the model number. I think they are BKR7E equivalents.
