The best choice for gearbox is the Honda MTF because it has special additives for protection. The MTF has good duration about 40.000km then is better to change it.
If you can not find the MTF you can use usual oil 10w/40 for short time.

The Honda MTF and 10w/40 have the same base, the difference between them is that MTF has special additives to protect the transmissions.
In any case do not use any other gear oil it will come to failure.

cheers man do you know any good place to buy apart from expensive honda dealerships?
1996 EJ9 Civic
1998 BB8 Prelude Motegi VTi

Aims:
EJ9 - Now my GF's car.
BB8 - Rebuild after crash damage to front end.
EK4 - Daily driver. Strip and track prep once prelude project complete

Honda dealers sell it at 5.20eur / L

The MTF is not expensive but here in Greece Honda dealers sell it in bulk or in 25L canisters, the liter costs from 6-14euros.
Might from dealer to dealer you see different price as I saw here.

Here in Portugal you have to take your own bottle or buy 25L.
Eco value for recycling must be payd also and it is ~50cent.

i ll go for service on monday and the mechaninc told me that he could use me castrol oil for the gear box cz they last for 80k klm what u think , stick on Honda oil ?

yes for sure. why to risk? MTF should perform better and holds for 50K Kms or so... Cheers

Use only Honda MTF, it is best for honda gearboxes ;)
If it is difficult to find MTF, you can use normal oil 10w/40 for 10,000 km.

It is pricey.. 14.4euros per liter! 11.74 without vat....
