Some basic turbo info

I'm floating the idea of turbo-ing my d14 and I wanted to just iron out the basics:
(I'm sure if I looked around here i'd find the answers, but if nothing else a nice open post like this is useful to others as well)

Stuff I would need:
- Manifold
- Downpipe
- Turbo
- Waste gate
- Intercooler
- Blow off valve
- Intakes pipes & filter

And then it would be just bolt-on and adjust psi as needed ?
Also, would the turbo get in the way of the A/C ?

you might want to check the other turbo topic as well. Whether the a/c unit will be a problem depends on the kit (manifold and the place of the turbo). I would be interested to see a complete turbo unit which won't collapse as the chinese cheap ones do.

of course you need oil lines for the turbo, at least 440 cc injectors, a programmable ECU unit (like p28,p30) of course your car should be converted to obd1 if it's not already done ;) so can tune for ignition and fuel.

The only manifold design that will allow you to run A/C will be a log, the other designs like the mini ram will pass really really close depending on the brand. The one i made lets you install A/c even tho i don't need it.

how much psi would be enough for the 240cc injectors?b16/b18 engines use 240cc if I remember correctly

b16 use 240's indeed, well looking at a quick map, i see that a 240 injector will be at a 96 % duty cycle at 3.5 psi @ 7500 rpms, safely, you could boost no more than 3.7 psi

this makes only 0,24 bar :o I wonder why this is so. Due to air efficiency of the turbo? I can't imagine what fuel consumption it would have with 440cc injectors

it's important to note, that the fuel consumption DOES NOT change just by changing the injectors, the fact that i noted in my last post it's about the duty of an 240 injector. An 440 injector @ 7500 rpms and 3.5 psi, would be @ 55 % duty cycle, but will be injecting exactly the same amount of fuel as a 240 one. This is of course true, only if the value of the injector is adjusted on the ROM (or map in the ECU) This means that if you just swap the injectors without changing anything to the map, then you'll be injecting twice as much fuel at the same rpm levels.
