hey baz, no dont worry, the strength is not affected, the piece is very strong and actually i had the idea to do this because i saw an IM from a D16Z2 that does have a hole like this one stock, and the casting seems to be pretty much the same.

Each time it is a horrific process to get that one mounted. Nice solution hehe!

Also at D16y8 IM is hard to bolt that nut.
I bolt that nut first from the bottom side of IM and then from the little stock hole.
I used a flexible metal extension to give a turn at the nut
