it's nice indeed! What about top end power? Did it increase?

If you want to sell something this is the right section

Only when the rpm goes to 4-5k you can 'feel it work'. It think when you put this on a dyno you will see allot of curves instead a almost straight line. But this is what i feel in comparison with a 55mm piping.

Replica not the real deal.

baz, when you said is too much for D14, you're talking about too much lenght or too much air to the engine bay? if 2 much air go to the engine, the computer add more fuel or not? Sorry if i'm ignoring something.

Too much air, i think the ECU can handle an ammount of air till a sertant point. After that is useless. Furthermore I share Dodo's opinion about too much turbulence in the intake, that doesn't do any good for the performance of the engine.

plus because an engine of 1.4 can only suck so much air in, the air will loose a lot of veloity in the fat bit of the tube so may be detrimental at high revs....

I wish we could measure all these things somehow.

does this also apply to the intake tube, i posted on page 2.
if so, then i'll buy an "normal" one

i dont think its worth going any bigger than 3inches (75mm) diameter. If you engine is standard then maybe this is even to big, but if you have changed inlet manifold and head/cam it may be worth going bigger. I just think that its overkill, i.e. you can get the same power out of a smaller one so why spend extra??
