I am typically one of the few people not bothering wether I have open air or cold air actually. With open airs I got plenty of hps from both my engines (D14 and B16B) were some coldair setups seemed to lack the ability to breath at high revs.

Though right now I have the Simota AeroForm due to a lucky buy... which is not really openair but is not as long and small tubed as most coldair systems. Though the original Simota filter was very small, replaced it by a longer ~8 inch K&N filter.

This is the ram air tube i have made. I drilled the chassis where all the other eks have it for the airbox and i put a tube which takes air from the bumper.

what is the difference exactly, is it just where they draw air from? or is the air chilled somehow in CAI??

The difference is that in this way you succeed in passing fresh and cold air in the engine bay. Our ej9s don't have this place drilled as all other ek civics.

cool so it draws air from the bumper instead of warm air from the engine bay.
