Nick i am almost sure that when i told him that i can't send my d14 cam there, he told me that the d16y7 cam will do the job (i would buy the core from them)so i assume it's the same as a base to do the regrind. Am i wrong?

They just listed that in there cause they done a few D14 regrinds.
Don't you get it ?It's just an example ,they might as wel list D13 and D16v1 too cause they could regrind them also. But it doesn't mean they have a special program or cam for D14's.
Every cam is handled unique ,so they can regrind every cam from any engine they just apply what they know will work.
Maybe they use a high tech program or maybe they grind them based on knowledge i don't know .

@ Saxo if Bisi said you could use the Y7 cam for a D14 regrind then you could buy the cam core without any problems.

I just like to keep everything toghether from the same head.
I only have 1 head which is getting ported and where my level 2 cam regrind came from and my cam caps.
This way i'm 100% sure everything will work toghether without any troubles. But that's just me no one needs to copy me ,do your own things and make yourself proud. ;)

In my opinion yes ,but i'm not saying using a Y7 core will be a bad thing either.I'm hooked on details you all should know that by now haha

Nick are there any other concerns apart from pattern and shape that i should worry about? I used to think that d14 and d167y cams are interchangeable as for their shape  making them complete bolt on

D14A3/A4/Z1/Z2, D16Y7, D16W3 camshafts are interchangeable (100% sure!)

Here are specs of them that I know:

D14Z2:
lobe height (Intake / Exhaust) = 34,848 / 36,019 mm

D16Y7:
lobe height (I/E) = 35,299 / 37,281 mm

D16W3:
(two different intake lobes)
lobe height (Intake1 / Intake2 / E) = 35,018 / 34,734 / 37,904 mm

I have measured the d14z2 camshaft timing and made a diagram myself:

soon I'll post next diagrams.
