I think that by adding an aftermarket cam gear and changing the timing can give some extra ponnies with stock camshaft

that is correct I've just made it with D16W3 cam

Now we can compare d14z2 with d16w3 camshaft:

D16W3 camshaft:
  • longer advertised duration (I - 246deg; E - 240deg)
  • present valve overlap phase at TDC
  • earlier opening of exhaust valves (much louder exhaust, unfortunately :( )

Interesting that there is no air intake overlap for the D14, maybe because of smaller engine size compared to the D16's?

Aims:
EJ9 - Now my GF's car.
BB8 - Rebuild after crash damage to front end.
EK4 - Daily driver. Strip and track prep once prelude project complete

if i would let my stock cam gedrinded, how many hp will it add? i know it depends on several conditions but whats a realistic gain?
and as i have been reading trough several topics, its better to juse the stock cams sins this is specifik for the engine if i understand correctlie?
