Finally managed to put some hours in today on my EJ6. It now has a D14A4 bottom end with a P2A head and fast road cam and a much improved IM (thank you to Mr Pardizzle). I've retained the original throttle body from the D16Y7 so that, for the moment I can retain my ECU. The issue now is to sort out the idle air control valve, at the moment it has both types fitted and one has got to go. It fired up fine, albeit with an obvious IACV problem, and sounded awesome. Very fast throttle response with a terrific exhaust note. :evil:

Yes, thank you, as nice as a very nice thing indeed :D Now comes the hard part, making all the parts from different engines/sources work in harmony. Wish me luck ;)

Also something might effect the comparison between d14a3 vs d14a8 is that the d14a8 has lower compression.
Compression:
d14a3 --> 9.1:1
d14a7/8 --> 9.0:1
So the milder power output of d14a8 can be explained.
