it must be the same story as d14a4 and d16z6/y8 non vtec vs vtec cams. I didn't mean that you will swap a vtec cam but that the pattern and design is the same so getting a regrind for your d14 wouldn't be that hard. I thing there is a non vtec d17 in the states right?

I don't know? I thought the D17 in de states is almost the same al the D16 from an EP2 with the same sort VTEC. Grtz T
