It's for a Helmholtz resonator thats atteched to that tubing. A Helmholtz resonator tunes out a certain frequency band resonation and quiets down the intake sound. Similar resonators are used in the exhaust systems in some different car brands.

Ah see that is where my study and cars meet... at acoustics. Never knew it was actually called 'Helmholtz resonator' though I worked a lot with mr. Helmholtz his equations in the past.

Yes it would be great if at least the pics could be used. I know some of the stuff is kind off wrong but we still do need a 100% article detaling the OBD1 swap and the different options available.

Is it necessary to exchange the distributor from my D14Z2 (MPFI) to the distributor from a D15B7 making OBD1 swap?

yep. because u have only 7 wire and obd1 have 9 wire.

SFI dosn't have 1 sensor in dizzy.
