according to wikipedia;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_en ... engines.29

the ZC's do differ in quite a few ways, its obd0 aswell so might cause some problems, could be done though, they have high compression aswell might be a beast!!!!

Neh it can't be done, the ZC is really differently aligned. I've tried how ZC IM fit on a D14 in the beginning, to start: port to port distance is bigger on ZC. In the end it is a completely different block with the only thing being the same is the bore if I am correct. But the spacing between cylinders is different etc.

ZC head on a D16 sohc bottem has been done a long time ago in america.
BUT the head doesn't line up properly with the bottem end and the guy had major difficulties making it seal properly.So it isn't worth doing it with all the problems you'll get. ;)
Quote from Endyn:"The combustion chamber is a better shape than the DOHC.So don't chunk those 1.6 SOHC engines, they can make really good power. For a pure performance application, regardless of application, I'd choose the SOHC. No bull!"

D14 head

Post by baz »

Allright, i can get my hands on a D14A3 head. I know that there are lots of performance possibilities with the head but what are the options?

So D14A3 head:

- Porting?
- Valves & springs?
- Cams?
- Etc..

Umm Nick would be a good person to ask. Also LakaiD14 since *I think* he's pretty proud of his D14 head.

Depends how much you wnat the car to make and what future upgrades you have planned.

If you want to rev it springs are must methinks.
