E 'J' 9 Chassis code discussion
i'm curious why is it the 1.4 model came out as EJ and not EK, is there actually something different? or they just run out of EK numbers or something?

And to make things weirder... EJ1 and EJ2 are 5th gen coupes. EJ6 is 6th gen coupe... what's up with the mixed identification of engine versus chassis numbers? An EJ1 is a coupe, but an EJ9 can be either hatch or sedan...

indeed! And to make things more complicated, there are ek1 (d16y4 usdm model) and ek2(jdm mainly, d13b 75x76 90hp engine!) codes! Ek3 is the d15z civic, ek4 is the b16a powered civic. Still i am almost sure that ek2 d13b civic is only a hatch version and not a sedan one. If this makes any difference. So the ej9 is difficult to reason.
