hi ilya and thanks for your reply,

d14a4 bottom end - you mean engine block - correct thats what i mean

the s20 tranny has short ratios and the final drive is different aswell, but as some have said not as reliable, in that case what can i do to the s40 to make it better, what parts am i after?

you think keep the jets from the 1.4, just some peolpe have said keep the fuel rail and jets from the z6 so im not sure which is better, i want the car to run until i get it tuned, then i will bring the 240cc with me and maybe fit, i plan to do turbo in the future so i also want to build the head so it can handle this.

Well the general consensus is to use 240cc injectors since that is what the D16 ECU is programmed to use BUT Ilya has been mucking about with mapping his own OBD1 civic so maybe we should heed his advice. At the end of the day if it feels wrong with the 190cc's you can simply change to the 240cc ones and see if it feels better.

sounds like the best way to go about it with the jets, so when i change the head and inlet mani and dizzy i should change ecu aswell to make it easier and just swap plugs over?

lite difference with plug\connector.

i mean. if u swap to OBD1 and don't make configure i think better d14 jets. if u could configure OBD1 (with chip) of course u must swap to D16 jets for more power.
because u have d14 block and OBD1 fuel maps for D16. i think it VERY RICH for D14. look at demo files "CRX for DODO" it small then D16.

im not fully sure what you mean ilya sorry,

but my plan is to get it tuned properly in the ecu at my friends mates place

http://www.westwardeng.com/
there do custom maps and tune down to the littlest bit to make the most out of setup at a safe scale aswell :)

i will change over to obd1 for sure, im just thinking when i use the p28 from the d16z6 this will be better than using the ej ecu or not. im just lost in this part ive read over lots of the forums but would like someone to answer it for me thanks.

answer to you question)
yes PGMFI p28 better then SFI D14!
because... bacause it PGM-FI) work all 4 individual jets, you have VTEC, IACV and you could configure ECU OBD1.

He means use D14 injectors if you are running the D16 ECU and map, for example you havn't tuned it yet. Since otherwise it will be unnecessarily rich. When you tune the D16 ECU change to the D16 injectors.

However I was always under the impression that you should use the 240cc injectors wether you had tuned or not, obviously tuning is much preferred. but remember I havn't actually done the swap so probably best to listen to Ilya since he has =P

i think u dont need full wire harnes from ek3.

u need
4 connector's for jets
3 connector's for ECU
2 connector's for dizzy
1 connector vtec
1 connector TA
1 connector IACV
