Apart from changin seat for a better than stock one (I hate one thing about EJ9, that is the seats!)... going from downflow to sideflow IM makes for need of a shorter length throttle cable which is lighter to push and therefore might lower strength needed.

But the real advice is already given... go get cruise control. I have driven 2 cars with good cruise control over the past three years and I do miss it on the long distances in my Civics.

The only other advice... do rest after 2 hours of driving. It's what I did last time when driving Germany's Autobahn for 7 hours. I had me three stops otherwise I could not maintain proper leg condition as well.

Cruise control, yes it is nice thing!
USA and Canada civics had cruise control both eg and ek generations.
You will need the cruise control device in the engine compartment, compatible ecu, pedals assembly (throttle, brake and clutch), switch that goes on steering wheel and the harness.
