Redline it everyday ?

Post by Dwardu »

I do enjoy to trash my engine, I'm pretty sure I hit 6k rpm at least once a day. Thoughts on this? I would imagine this is fine so long as I service it maybe a bit earlier than you usually would.

No problem if you revving high (it is a must as Honda owner  ) but the rule is engine must be warmed (at working temperature) and the drivetrain too.
Keep stepping the gas pedal !!
Also it is good to change often engine oil every 4000-5000 kilometres or every 6 months.

Indeed. As for the oil all these years I used to change it every 5K. I think this is a bit too much given the use I have been giving it. So 7 to 8K for me from now on but always quality oil Mobil 1 0-40 (12e /1lt)

I use my Honda most days and between it and my Mazda cover maybe 1,000 miles per week. I work them hard and usually at the top of the power band, both cars are approaching 200,000 miles. So yes don't hesitate to put your foot on the loud pedal. ;)
Fast, reliable, cheap. Pick any two - because you won't get all three!

Ow the D14 is in perfect shape. It's the body that lets me down. My EJ9 is removed from the road for 1.5 years now, still planning on welding new wheel arches in the rear and repainting the PINK exterior which should be red. I think the welding will be done within a month from now. For the engine, I just want to get more bhp from it... having the car on 4 stands, I thought rebuilding the engine now would be a good idea. Somehow I am just completely lacking time... as my months delay in posts here...

On the other hand, I am so annoyed by not having this car for 1.5 year now, I might just weld the arches, paint the car, and put it back on its wheels and enjoy it again. The engine is like brilliant. I know I can hook it up and fire it up and it runs like it did so an hour ago.
