hey guys,
im new here and will make a build topic on my car soon.

can you get rid of the simplified fuel injection (SFI)
injector 1+3 and 2+4 and get a fully seperated injection?

i'd like to keep my d14 non-vtec

Yes of course.
With obd1 conversion!
Or with swapping D14Z1-2 engine wiring harness +ecu

Yes but by doing that what will be the benefit? Fuel consumption is already good with a leaner 1st stage set up.

i think for tuning purposes the sfi isnt as good as all the injectors separated..

my question is purely based on further engine tuning when i get my next upgrades.
if the sfi is compatible with a chippable/mappable ecu and will not compromise the tuneability, then thats okay.

if you can tune the engine better when the injectors arent paired i need to change them.

96-00 Civics OBD2 ecus are not tunable (including the ej9 ecu too)!
So for any fuel cards tuning for obd2 ecus is the piggy back way or the better option is OBD1 conversion

I had mine tuned tho(EJ9 d14z2) I dont know what program they used but i dont think they used 1 of those piggyback devices.Cost me £250
I now run obd1 but need to chip then tune it :D

All people who are tuning Honda ecus say that obd2 96-00 it is not tunable without piggy back (parallel ecu).
Can you learn more information from the people who tuned yours car obd2 ecu?
But if you had opportunity to tune obd2 ecu why to add obd1 ecu in your car :?:

Ah interesting, mine was connected at the obd2 port to a laptop, while doing runs on the dyno.
The laptop displayed loads of charts/grids/tables (I know nothing about how to map-i wish i did)
Also they connected something to the lamba sensor-afr guage??

They got it from 90bhp to 109bhp (with a faulty ht lead and stock IM)

Then 6 months later did vtec swap +obd1 swap.Have not had/got money to get it chipped then mapped-been quoted £350 to be done using Neptune.

:)
