Possible dyno meet

Post by cad civic mechanic »

I was recently chatting to Baz about a possible dyno meet in mid 2012. I myself will be driving from Northern Ireland, getting boat to Scottland, driving to Harwich to get the boat to Hook Van Holland. Dates and venue are still to be confirmed, and myself or Baz will post details on this tread as they are agreed and set in stone. Anyone who would be up for doing this in mid 2012, please put your names on this thread. This is an open meet and anyone is welcome. The more the better :D

Depends on dates because im a student but if its over summer it sounds like a god idea. I've been wanting to do this for ages, lets hope I can go OBD1 before then at and it can be truely worthwhile!

I dont want to sound like a bellend but I dont think this is the best place for this topic. Maybe someone can move it to general discussion or something? :)

I want to go ! For ages im thinking about this !
Maybe we could do a more centered event.
Like France? That way anyone can come !
The dyno would be a problem for sure...
Or if everyone wants to come to Portugal i can book our company dyno.
Cheers

I'll move this topic in a sec. edit: moved it here

It would not hurt to put this meeting in the Netherlands is it? Perhaps not the most central, but costwise good enough and a big base overhere for DU I think.

I can always arrange for my "own" dyno centre in Geldermalsen (Speed Centre).

And I even might be able to arrange a camping site were we can fiddle around on our cars before entering the dyno... well it is not a camping site, but a site were we can work on cars and perhaps some of us can place a tent.

Think we should hold this meet in the netherlands 8-)

@ Jorris, the campsite sounds like a great idea. How much will it cost per car for the dyno or can you get a deal on the price? Can Geldermalsen (Speed Centre) link to the ecu and tune using moates demon ?

Glad to see alot of interest in this one, should we arrange it in july 2012

In Geldermalsen I can only have eCtune prepared, but doesn't moates have something to do with that?

I can give the usual deal, small fiddling around starts from 60 euros, but you get half an hour which often means 5 runs or so. Completely mapping an ECU takes up to an hour which I can get for 120 euro. I get roughly 20 euro discount per setup if I come with a bunch of car (about 5-8).

I'll quote everyone depending on setup.

Getting eCtune can also be done on stock OBD1 ECU's... normally around 100, but changes are prizes will go up next time, I'll inform everybody on time for that.
