Re: PO6 --> P28
is it not just easier to use the y8 IM and rail and use p2p ecu, that way its all set up, just need to do a obd1 conversion on the d14.
Is there any benefit in using the p28 over the p2p?

As i wrote before P28 is the best ECU for D and B series, becouse it very easy to tune/ remap. It's most popular ECU in "project" hondas

hmmm, okay so for this engine all i want to do is Inlet - y8 mini-me - new exhuast system, nothing special, is it worth going for the p28 or stickin with the p2p, I doubt id even really need to get it remapped. Cheers.

Re: PO6 --> P28
Mini me projects gain considerable power on remap but i guess that both do the job
Re: PO6 --> P28
it's recomended or even strongly recomended to tune ECU after mini-me in d15, so I guess that d14 need it more than d15.mynameisowen wrote:hmmm, okay so for this engine all i want to do is Inlet - y8 mini-me - new exhuast system, nothing special, is it worth going for the p28 or stickin with the p2p, I doubt id even really need to get it remapped. Ofcourse you can ride wothout ECU tune, but you wont get full potencial, and engine might work not clear.

Re: PO6 --> P28
So is it worth going with the p28 for the remap? Why not remap the p2p? i just dont know the difference you see. Both the Z6 and the Y8 engines make similar power so i would guess that the ECU's have similar maps. Why do people prefer the p28 over the p2p??

Re: PO6 --> P28
p2p is just different, and it's not easy to tune. Ecu are diffrent and way to tune it, interfaces also. P28 was most easy to tune, and can be addapted to all D and B series, maybe it's the reason why they quit to use it (more dif. ECU, more money for comapany)

And as far as 'mugen chips' go don't even bother. Its a very lucky guess when you get more power from those kind of things. Each car should be invidually remapped is my opinion on those things.
And with no experience soldering a chip in an out is a nig no-no. Even I, with a lot of soldering on my hands, don't go there. It requires specialists tools to do correctly. See if you can find someone around who knows, I got a piggyback thing where I can pull chips out and in to replace them with a pair of pliers.
